Singing Stone Gallery presents Art on 19th St., on Saturday, July 7th, 2012 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Art on 19th St., now in its 2nd year, is held on the first Saturday of each month. This event will feature Tampa jewelry artists & designers Dan Balk, Leigh Rive and Sarah Phillips. Meet the artist, Leigh Rive, and peruse her wide selection of watch-part jewelry. During the event, Leigh will be accepting custom orders and hand making her steam-punk jewelry. Leigh utilizes up-cycled and found materials. We also invite you to meet local jewelry artist, Sarah Phillips. Sarah utilizes silver, copper, brass and semiprecious stones to create original artisan jewelry. Sarah will be available to accept custom orders and demonstrate her craft. Singing Stone exclusively carries these collections and is honored to display their pieces for exhibition and sale. During Art on 19th St., Singing Stone Gallery opens its doors to the local art community. The Gallery provides a free platform for emerging artists, crafters and musicians to offer one-of-a-kind, handmade art including custom orders.
The Spring Collection of fine contemporary jewelry by local designer and goldsmith, Dan Balk, will be on display during the event. Balk designs and fabricates every piece of jewelry from raw materials in his studio at Singing Stone. Dan's expanding Spring Collection is for sale and on exhibit at the Gallery. Each piece is one of a kind, designed by Dan, who creates his own Sterling Silver, 18K and 14K gold alloys that he fashions, mills, forges, fuses and brazes into miniature sculptures for personal adornment. Dan selects and sets each stone, often performing his own lapidary work on select stones. This allows Dan complete contact and artistic connection with each piece of fine art jewelry from concept to collection.
Singing Stone is a working studio and gallery featuring Dan Balk's Fine Art Jewelry, eclectic contemporary craft and fine art produced by local artisans. The Gallery is owned and managed by Nataly Balk, who takes pride in exhibiting and supporting local and regional artists' work. Singing Stone is located in Historic Ybor City at 1903 N. 19 St., Tampa, FL 33605.
